Whilst light still comes in, the heat has been reduced dramatically so no longer feels like a sauna. We are west open facing meaning sun moves around the side of the windows then above normally trapping so much heat. In 24hrs the difference is amazing! Thanks Paul!

Window protection is essential for both residential and commercial applications, as it holds shattered glass together to prevent injury.
Security Window Films FAQs
As a general rule security films are applied to the outside of the window pane. But while that is the most common type of application there is nothing preventing the films from being applied to the interior of the window instead. In fact, if you really want to ramp up the safety you can ask to have our security films applied to both the interior and the exterior of the window. Our sales team can help you decide which type of application is right for you. We also provide detailed fitting instructions and instructional videos to assist you in the DIY installation of our security films.
If you want we can install a double layer of security window films for you, but we have to say this is not a recommended practice. First, because doing so will void the warranty of whatever film is on the bottom, and second because it may be unnecessary. For instance, if you already have a tinted privacy film and don’t want to lose the privacy, not to worry. We can remove your current film and replace it with a single tinted security film.
If at any time you change your mind and want to remove the security film, or you want to replace it with a different kind, that’s not a problem. Just ring us up and make an appointment and we’ll send someone over to remove or replace it for you. If you are determined to remove the film yourself we would caution against it if doing so would require that you get on a ladder or otherwise put yourself in a dangerous position.
Our window security films are easy to clean with a soft micro-fibre cloth and a window cleaning solution that does NOT include ammonia. We would recommend you wait at least a couple of months after the installation to clean the windows just to give them time to forge a proper bond with the glass.
The warranty of a security window film will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. In the case of PR Solar’s security window film, it comes with a 10-year warranty.
No. Nothing can make it impossible for intruders to gain access to your home, but security window film will make this task significantly more difficult and act as a deterrent. What security window film does is to keep the glass together when the window is impacted and broken. This has the added benefit of making it much more difficult to break through the glass and will undoubtedly slow an intruder down, so much so that they may fear being caught and flee the scene. It also gives the police a greater chance of catching them should they manage to enter your property.
Home security is not a topic that should be taken lightly. Nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of your family and loved ones. Security window film adds an extra layer of protection to the exterior of your property in one of its most vulnerable spots (most break-ins occur through the windows). How much is your peace of mind worth? Only you can decide that.
The answer to this question depends on numerous different factors, not least whether it’s applied to the interior of the window (more common) or the exterior. We have known window film to last for over 20 years, but that is not the norm. We guarantee our window security film for 10 years.
While the film is still progressing through the drying process post-installation, bubbling is actually quite common. This should not be a cause for concern though, as it just signifies the presence of small amounts of moisture underneath the film, which will evaporate during the aforementioned drying process. These bubbles should be left alone and can sometimes take up to 2 months to disappear completely after window film installation.
